Truck finance

Light truck finance

Light truck finance funds small commercial trucks such as the Fuso Canter, Isuzu Elf and Hino Dutro for delivery, trades and cartage work. LDM Finance structures repayments around your cashflow, then places one application across its lender panel. Zero deposit options are available on approval.

Light truck finance questions

A light truck is a small commercial vehicle above a van but below a heavy rigid truck, typically with a gross laden weight up to around 7,500 kg. The Fuso Canter, Isuzu Elf and Hino Dutro are common examples. Many can be driven on a car licence, though you should confirm the current rule for your vehicle.
Yes. Used light trucks are commonly financed, though the age, hours and body type affect the term and which lender suits. We assess the truck and how the business trades, then match the application to a lender on our panel that supports that vehicle.
Not always. Many light trucks under 6,000 kg gross laden weight can be driven on a Class 1 car licence, while heavier ones need a Class 2. Licence rules are set by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, so confirm the requirement for your specific vehicle. Finance is separate from licensing.
As a guide, a $60,000 light truck on a five-year term with zero deposit works out around $314 a week at a representative rate of 12.95% p.a. This is indicative only and not an offer. Use the calculator to model your own price, term and deposit.
